OUR STORY

The Orion Circle was born from a deep love for our son, Mason — a bright, curious boy whose way of experiencing the world continues to teach us every day.

Even before his diagnosis, we noticed things that made Mason beautifully unique. He was endlessly fascinated by letters and words, often repeating phrases he heard with incredible clarity — a pattern we later learned was echolalia. By the time he was just a toddler, it seemed as though he was already reading. He didn’t just memorize — he absorbed. And behind that fascination with language was a brilliant mind trying to connect with the world in his own way.

At age three, Mason was diagnosed with autism. We enrolled him in an early intervention program through our county, which helped build structure and gave him the support he needed to thrive during the school year.
But when summer came, everything changed.

Without the routine of school, Mason struggled. The long days, lack of structure, and transitions left him disregulated and overwhelmed. Traditional daycare settings weren’t equipped to support his needs — and in many ways, he was misunderstood, overlooked, or expected to adapt to an environment not made for him.
That’s when we knew something had to change — not just for Mason, but for other children like him.

The Orion Circle is our answer. It’s a place where children with autism are embraced for who they are. Where summer doesn’t mean chaos, but connection. Where sensory needs, communication differences, and emotional safety are understood — not just accommodated, but honored.

We created The Orion Circle so that no family feels the way we did — scrambling to find a safe, enriching place for their child. Every program we offer comes from lived experience and a deep belief in the brilliance of neurodiverse children.

Mason is our North Star. And through The Orion Circle, we’re building a constellation of care, inclusion, and joy — for him, and for every child who deserves to shine.
